The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace is responsible for all road travel arrangements for The Kingand members of the Royal Family, from horse-and-carriage to car and from livery to harness.
See behind the scenes at a real working stables in the heart of London, steeped in royal history, and marvel at the iconic 260-year-old Gold State Coach, used at State occasions such as Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation in 1953, the Platinum Jubilee in 2022 and King Charles III Coronation in 2023.

Refreshments
Eating and drinking are not permitted inside the Royal Mews, except for bottled water. You will be asked to place drinks and food in closed bags before being admitted. Food and drink are not available for purchase at the Mews, but there are many cafés and restaurants in the local area.

Coach parking
We can advise on the nearest coach set down and pick up points. Unfortunately there is no coach parking near the Royal Mews.
Guiding
London Blue Badge Guides are allowed to guide at two points in the Main Quadrangle. Visitors can also enjoy a free multimedia tour.

The Royal Mews is fully accessible. Concessionary rates are availableif you have a disability and we offer a free access companion ticket which can be booked online.
An accessible toilet, a Changing Space and seating are available.
Registered assistance dogs are welcome.
The multimedia guide is available in British Sign Language (BSL) and with subtitles, and an audio-descriptive guide is available for blind orpartially-sighted visitors.
A number of Wardensare Dementia Friends, please ask staff for any assistance. You can also download a sensory map (PDF).
The Mews visitor route is mostly outdoors but mostly covered, taking in several stableand coach-house areas.You may wish todownload a photo journey (PDF)to help you plan your visit.
There is no café or parking available at the Royal Mews, but both are available nearby.
