Usage[]
The Spirit Box is used to attempt to acquire Spirit Box Response evidence and confirm the Ghost Type.
To use the Spirit Box, hold the activation button [LMB/Left Click]
and ask one of the Questions while the necessary Conditions are met. If successful, the ghost will give the player a Response.
Conditions[]
The following conditions must be met in order to speak to the ghost:
- The player has to be within the interaction range of the Ghost. Start by being in the Ghost Room and, ideally, near where it is interacting with the environment.
- The Spirit Box must be one of the three Evidences required for the Ghost.
- Occasionally, the player must be alone to get a response from the Ghost. Sometimes even players directly above or below the Spirit Box room will count as 'not alone.'
The player does not need to be in a hunt to receive a Response.
Given that these conditions are met, the user should receive a reply. It may take multiple attempts, and it may be necessary to check the game settings to ensure that microphone setup is correct.
Questions[]
There are currently 6[1] supported phrases:
- "Can you talk?"
- "Can you speak?"
- "Can you communicate?"
- "What is your name?"
- "Where are you?"
- "When did you die?"
Responses[]
If the Spirit Box attempt succeeds, the player will experience the following Response event:
- The ghost icon on the spirit box will illuminate with a blue light.
- After a moment of static, the ghost will respond with one of the possible responses.
The Ghost's response will vary based on the question asked, although it is not always an accurate match-up, according to the table below:
Where are you? | When did you die? | What is your name? | Can you talk?/Can you speak? |
---|---|---|---|
"I'm right behind you" | "So many years ago." | "I will bring your soul from your body" | "Let's go play" |
"I am looking for you." | "I didn't die but you will die" | "I am the worst one to [unintelligible] " | "I will rip your tongue" |
"I am so close." | "I'm not dead" | "I will come" | |
"I am behind you" | "I will rip your mouth" | ||
"I'm just behind you" |
Possible Ghosts[]
See Spirit Box Response for possible Ghosts.
Unconfirmed Tips[2][]
The following tips are not confirmed to work, and they may or may not be useful.
- You may not need to use the activation button or ask questions into your mic? Just walking around with it in your hand may eventually trigger a spirit box response.
- It may help to turn the lights off and close the doors to the room before using the spirit box.
- It may be helpful to limit the amount of items you place nearby when trying to use the spirit box. Most likely the game has the ghost randomly decide on something nearby to interact with, and it may choose to blow out a candle or paint a picture instead of interacting with your spirit box.
Trivia[]
- The spirit box is based on the Muzen Wild Mini bluetooth speaker.
