"Some types of ghosts leave fingerprints on door handles and light switches they physically interact with. These fingerprints can be detected with UV light." 'How to Play' section of Demonologist
The UV light or Ultraviolet Light is one of the seventeen tools in Demonologist.
The UV light is used to see Fingerprints left behind by ghosts which have it as their evidence. in a pinch, it can also be used to light up the surrounding area, however it's not as effective as the Flashlight when used in that manner.
Usage[]
When picked up, the UV light will automatically turn on, with no option to be turned off (other than putting it away) and lighting up a fairly large radius around the player in purple light. The entire radius can detect fingerprints and there is no need to be looking directly at the fingerprints for them to be detected.
When dropped, although it remains looking the same as when held in hand, the UV light will cease to produce any light save for an extremely short radius around it,. It cannot be used to detect fingerprints in the dropped state and isn't effective as a light source. Therefore, the UV light cannot be used to find Fingerprints by looking through the Tripod Camera.
